M's Naptime Blanket

M, my son who will be 2 in June, has been using a receiving blanket for his naptime blankie at school. I decided it was time to make him a "big boy" blankie to use.

This quilt was so much fun to make. M selected the owl fabric on the same trip to when we found the owl fabric for my niece's quilt. I couldn't say "No" to him when he pointed it out. When he saw the
finished quilt, he immediately ran to it and began to "hide" under it and pretend to sleep.

I made the quilt 48"x48" so that it was larger enough to cover him, but wouldn't hang off the edge of his napping cot. Each of these large owls is pieced to be similar to the smaller ones on the quilt.
